More than 50 employees of Qatar Insurance Company (QIC), Qatar’s leading insurer, celebrated World Blood Donor Day by donating blood at the Blood Donation Unit at Hamad Medical Corporation.

Every year, on 14th June, people around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day by donating blood. The event serves to thank voluntary unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood and to raise awareness of the need for regular blood donations to ensure quality, safety and availability of blood and blood products for patients in need.

Commenting on the blood donation initiative and the response it had received from the staff, Senior Deputy Group President and CEO of QIC Group, Mr. Ali al Fadala stated, “The blood donation drive highlights the Group’s commitment and contribution towards the community. Moreover, it represents our unwavering commitment towards the Qatari society and its members.”

Delighted by the good turnout of employees who supported the noble cause he added, “It is indeed gratifying to see such support from our staff and I hope this would serve as a source of inspiration for others in the future.”

The blood donation drive is a part of the framework of QIC’s engagement towards the community and support to all levels of health, environment and sports sectors, amongst others.
